On May 10 -12th, Master Driller Steve Perry, and other members of SAGE’s drilling division, Tom Saccoccio and Mike Gagne attended the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) General Certification Exam Preparation Class held at Black Bear Lake Country Club in Millstone, New Jersey.
To prepare for NGWA’s certification exam, Steve, Tom and Mike were provided intense training in the following areas:
- Drilling Methods – Basic equipment, techniques, and terminology for Mud/Air Rotary – Cable Tool – Hollow Stem Augers.
- Geology/Hydrogeology – Basic understanding of Geology/Hydrogeology pertaining to drilling, drilling methods and well construction.
- Boring Log Preparation – Preparing a Boring Log, understanding soil classifications and the Standard Penetration Test (SPT).
- Best Practices – Recording and documenting accurate information on a project site.
The class is being offered and taught by Victor Rotonda, Northeast & Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager for Geoprobe Systems; Tim Reilly, Deputy Program Coordinator for the USGS Contaminant Biology Program; and Sam Migliaccio, Operations Manager and Driller Trainer for Allstar Drilling.
