SAGE Employees Graduate from 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Course

October 30th, 2018

SAGE Environmental’s Dara Kok and Tyler Perry are shown in the field exercises which are part of the HAZWOPER training.

Dara Kok, Environmental Scientist and Tyler Perry, Driller and Field Technician recently completed a 40-hour hazardous waste training course (HAZWOPER 40-hour Course) as mandated by the government. The course is specifically designed for persons involved with clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and facilities which store, dispose, transport or treat hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous wastes that SAGE deals with on a daily basis.

OSHA developed the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) program to protect workers at hazardous sites. These extensive regulations ensure their safety and health when followed correctly.

HAZWOPER 40 Hour is required for employees working on a project consisting of Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Operation.  The training must be renewed annually through the completion of an 8-hr course.
